At Thriving Beyond Grief, you are understood more than you know.
Kelly Lamanteer, Christian Grief Coach
Journey with Kelly, a Christian Grief Coach and Mental Health Practitioner Who Has Walked This Path Herself.
I know firsthand how grief, and grief-related anxiety or panic, can profoundly impact us at the very core of our being. Life can feel like an endless storm—raging on no matter how many prayers you say or how many counselors you see. These emotions can steal your peace and joy every single day. There’s an intense pain that comes from feeling hopelessly stuck in a “new normal” you never asked for.
The truth is, grief, anxiety, and panic can weave together in ways that can leave you feeling disoriented, ashamed, and alone.
Here at Thriving Beyond Grief, I believe your story matters, and it doesn’t have to end in despair. My calling is to guide you through your grief journey with compassion, practical strategies, and biblical insight—a faith-based approach that respects both your emotional needs and your spiritual walk.
“I remember vividly the day my family doctor looked me square in the eyes and said, ‘Kelly, you no longer just have anxiety that leads you into panic attacks; you have a grief-induced panic disorder.’
At that moment, I knew she was right.
I had tried everything I could to stop these attacks from happening. Yet the grief I was experiencing had quickly shifted from what would be considered normal grief into complicated grief. The trauma from my father’s death had me in its grip. I prayed, cried out to God, recited scripture, read books, read my Bible, and had people pray for me, the list goes on.
But I was stuck.”

I’ve lived it, wrestled with it, and ultimately found a way through it.
I am convinced that no one should walk the road of a significant loss alone.
When you’ve tried praying, journaling, reading your Bible, deliverance, or even switching churches—only to still feel suffocated by sorrow and anxiety—it’s easy to lose hope. Thriving Beyond Grief was born from my realization that traditional approaches to grief and faith sometimes leave critical gaps. I witnessed it firsthand in my own journey and recognized the urgent need for a safe space where Christians wouldn’t be shamed for feeling “not okay.”
My Core Philosophy: All of my Mental Health & Wellness Services follow a faith-based, holistic approach, seamlessly integrating grief coaching with therapeutic techniques. This unique model not only addresses your immediate concerns but also dives deep beneath the surface—creating significant shifts so you can move forward with healing, clarity, and renewed direction. What once felt impossible—freedom, healing, and forward momentum to create impact— can become your new reality!
Faith-Inspired, Realistic Approach:
I believe in miracles, and I also believe in the therapeutic process. Genuine transformation happens through both prayerful surrender and diligent inner work.
Holistic Integration:
Mind, body, and spirit are all connected. When one is out of alignment, the others feel the strain. I help you reconnect and regain harmony.
From Wilderness to Promised Land:
Inspired by the biblical account of the Israelites circling the mountain, I see complicated grief and anxiety as a wilderness that can feel endless. But with support, surrender, and perseverance, there is a way forward—toward a life blooming with hope, purpose, true healing, and new beginnings.

Meeting You in the Middle of the Storm
Maybe you’re here because you’ve reached a point of exhaustion. You’re tired of feeling like your prayers bounce off the ceiling or that every conversation about your grief ends with someone telling you to “just give it time.” I get it. You might even be questioning the depth of your relationship with God. It’s not unusual to feel a sense of spiritual disconnection when you’ve been through so much.
I don’t shame or judge you for those feelings. Instead, I’ll sit with you in them, acknowledging that spiritual wrestling is often part of the healing process. Rather than sweeping your doubts under the rug, I’ll explore them with you. Genuine faith isn’t threatened by honest questions.
I hear you. I understand you.
When I finally visited my doctor, I was grappling with relentless anxiety and enduring four or five panic attacks a day. I had isolated myself at home because they seemed to strike anywhere without warning, including while driving! Mentally, emotionally, and spiritually drained, I felt my life spiralling out of control, convinced I’d remain disconnected from others forever.
One day, standing between my kitchen and dining room, I heard the Lord speak so clearly: “Kelly, are you ready to surrender?” My only response was “yes.” Surrendering felt like defeat at first, but it opened the door to transformation. Letting go of control freed me to explore uncharted parts of myself, revealing that this wilderness wasn’t barren after all—it was full of possibilities for growth and a deeper encounter with God.
In the context of recovering from complicated grief or an anxiety or panic disorder, surrender means acknowledging our vulnerabilities and the complexities of our experiences. It allows us to step back, cease the struggle against what we cannot change alone, and move forward with curiosity and hope. As we navigate this wilderness together, you may face obstacles that ultimately foster resilience and insight, helping you emerge stronger and more aware of God and your true self. By releasing the need for control, we cultivate trust in God, in the process, and in ourselves, ultimately leading us toward a place of thriving.
Many people assume grief follows a neat timeline, that the grieving process always unfolds in an orderly set of grief stages. That after a few weeks or months, you should be “back to normal.” But for some women, grief lingers and evolves, morphing into a complex tangle of sadness, fear, and physical symptoms.
Why Does TBG Focus on Complicated Grief & Anxiety?
Panic attacks can strike unexpectedly, compounding the emotional burden.
This complicated grief stage isn’t a sign of weak faith. It’s a sign that your loss or traumatic experience was profound and that your heart is still working to make sense of life without what (or whom) you’ve lost.
Thriving Beyond Grief’s mission is to equip Christian women facing grief, anxiety, and panic with faith-centered, science-backed grief coaching and mental health support.
"I really appreciate Kelly's heart and desire for women to heal holistically, even at the deepest soul level, pointing us towards Jesus with encouragement to invite God into every painful place so we can have a new experience. I'm so inspired by her super, bold faith to allow God to use every piece of her redeemed past to bring hope to us all!"
